Happy Father’s Day.  I hope it’s an invalid one.

Deals of the Day

Non-invalidation No Comments »

Dear reader, my apologies, but this is just a post of deals - these are just too good for you to not know about.

First is one of the hottest new cameras on the market, the 12.1 Megapixel Panasonic G1, plus 2 lenses for $661 shipped free.  For those of you who like the quality of an SLR but the size of a point and shoot, this is your camera - it utilizes the Micro Four Thirds mirror-box-less system, making it considerably smaller than most DSLRs.  And it got a “Highly Recommended” from dpreview, the only site to trust whole-heartedly on camera reviews.  Here’s what you have to do:

Go here.  Scroll down to where it says “Save $250 on the Panasonic 45-200mm Lens when you purchase 1 or more Panasonic G1 Digital SLR offered by Amazon.com” and click “Add Both to Cart”.  The reduced price will show up at the final stage of checkout.

Second is John Fogerty/CCR’s greatest hits for $2.99.  For 25 DRM-free songs, that’s much better than, say, if you would download these songs on Kazaa and the RIAA would catch you, fining you $80,000 per song.  I’m serious.  If you’re not familiar with John Forgerty, you should be ashamed of yourself and start listening immediately.

And speaking of cheap tunes, here’s 99 Essential Chants for $.99.

Have an invalid Saturday.

My rat tails are tiger whiskers.

Lions, bears, and…tigers.  There you have it.  I thought about going with the “My hair is a tiger” approach, but then noticed the whiskers.  If you can do better, and I’m fairly sure you can, leave ‘em in the comments.

Also, you know I like internet deals, right?  Well, what you may not know is that I also like pocket knives - carry one with me all the time.  For those of you that don’t, here’s a pretty good price on an “every-day carry” (as those of us in the know call it) - I carried this one for about a year and still do every once in a while:

Kershaw Onion (serrated)

This has what’s called “speed safe” opening, so it can be opened quickly with one hand.  Also, this particular blade size makes it legal to carry in most states (but you’ll need to check that out yourself).  What’s that?  What am I currently carrying?  Well, dear reader, I’m glad you asked:

xena

And let me tell you, Lucy Lawless does not enjoy her time in my pocket.  Just kidding. She loves it.

But seriously, right now, I carry this (which also comes in the fully serrated option).  Both are good knives, this one’s just a little pricier.

Oh frack, the bears are building bridges.

We thought it was cute to dress them up like the Village People and teach them to dance a clumsy YMCA, but the laughter and taunting sparked something deep inside of them.  Fortunately, the cop and biker bears and cowboy and indian bears are intrinsically at odds, and they should destroy each other.

Original here.

I’m a lion. + most awesome lion-dog joke ever.

What do you get when a dog tries to convince you that she’s a lion?  A lion b*tch.

I swear: I just made that up right now.  Gosh, I’m so proud of myself, I’m actually a little bit giddy.

Thanks for the image ShoeShineJim.

Firefly plug

Image 3 Comments »

This is a repeat, but it’s so I can once again plug Firefly on video, as they’re now on sale on Blu-ray.  There’s a little place in my soul reserved for the hope that one day a second season will be produced.  It’s near the hope for this site’s popularity.  It’s a sad, desperate place there, let me tell ya’.

These birds have arms.

Or, these arms have birds.  Never thought of it like that, eh?  Either way, your argument is invalid.

Haley sent these in.  She loves the site.  Haley, rest assured that the site loves you as well.  Then again that’s what it tells all the ladies.

I never watched the “old” Star Treks (only ST:TNG), but I recently saw the new movie.  It was actually pretty good, which amuses me after having watched this.  I’m tempted to get a hold of and watch the originals.  I really liked Shatner on Boston Legal - him and James Spader really are hilarious.  So, Trekkies, if you’re not stuffed in a locker and/or too busy practicing Klingon between sessions of D&D, I have a question: can I start with the early movies or should I just start with the TV show?  English responses only please.

I thought they meant the moustache

So, what’s going on, dear reader?  It’s been a while.  Seeing anyone new?  And is that a new tattoo?  I thought you said no more tattoos.  I knew you would break!
